Project Doubles Capacity of Emergency Department, Improves Operational Efficiencies and Creates New Modern Image for the Facility

Kingsport, Tenn. – September 1, 2010 – – Gresham, Smith and Partners, a leading multi-disciplinary design and consulting firm for the built environment, announces the completion of the Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center's D Tower project. Included in the 253,443-square-foot addition, expansion and renovation is a new 12-room operating suite, an updated and enlarged Emergency Department (ED) and a 36-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU) as well as all the necessary mechanical, electrical and plumbing infrastructure to support these new upgrades.

Archbold Memorial Hospital.  Projecting the needs of the region's aging population and in support of the facility's expanding services, the GS&P-designed Lewis Hall Singletary Oncology Center provides outpatient radiation oncology as well as medical oncology services and is designed to accommodate future expansion needs as necessary. Daytona Beach, Fla. – August 25, 2010 – Gresham, Smith and Partners (GS&P), a leading multi-disciplinary design and consulting firm for the built environment, is pleased to announce the firm’s Jacksonville office was selected to design the Jim Henderson  Administration and Welcome Center at the entrance of  the campus of Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. The estimated 30,000-square-foot administration and welcome center building will serve as the gateway for university visitors and is planned to be completed by April 2012.

GS&P Receives AIA Birmingham Award for Design of Crisp Regional Hospital

28,000-Square-Foot Addition Includes ICU, Doctor's Lounge and Medical Records Department

Birmingham, Ala. – August 5, 2010 – Gresham, Smith and Partners, a leading multi-disciplinary design and consulting firm for the built environment, is pleased to announce the firm received an Award of Merit from the Birmingham Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) in their annual design awards program.  Honored for design of a 28,000 square-foot addition at Crisp Regional Hospital in Cordele, Georgia, the design team sought to create an effective healing environment through incorporation of evidenced-based design elements.  Building Information Modeling (BIM) was utilized to bring the project online ahead of schedule.

Nashville, Tenn. – August 2, 2010 – Gresham, Smith and Partners, a leading multi-disciplinary design and consulting firm for the built environment, is pleased to announce it has been honored by the National Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) in their 33rd annual Marketing Communications Awards.  Recognized with 1st Place in the Book/Monograph category, the firm was awarded for the development of Showcase 2.  The Showcase 2 collection, originally published in November 2009, features in-depth interviews with team members of a selected group of projects to illustrate the details of each project as well as the pride the teams have for the lasting, positive impacts and quality of life improvements that are a result of their work.

APWA Reporter July 2010 Issue Features Knoxville Regional Complete Streets Study

DAL Partners Joint Venture Team Selected to Provide Design Improvements at DAL
Dallas, TX - Jul 19, 2010

Tenant Finish Out Designed in Conjunction with Love Field Modernization Program (LFMP) to Support Cohesive, Modern Facility Expansion and Renovation

Dallas, TX – July 19, 2010 – DAL Partners, a joint venture of Gresham, Smith and Partners, a leading multi-disciplinary design and consulting firm to the built environment, and IEG Consulting Engineers, LLC, announces it has been selected by Southwest Airlines to provide design services related to the Love Field Modernization Program (LFMP). The design team will provide all services necessary to lead and execute the design effort for tenant lease spaces for Southwest Airlines, American Airlines, Continental Airlines, the Transportation Security Administration and the City of Dallas Department of Aviation. Tenant lease spaces will be designed to support the facility's effort to renovate and expand Love Field to create a cohesive, modern facility that will serve the needs of Dallas citizens and travelers and will address the overall LFMP goal of becoming LEED-Certified.
